First Justice Roadtrip

The Justice Team for the Sisters of Mercy is hitting the road this weekend, going to Columbus, GA, to participate in the annual vigil to call for closing the School of the Americas. That’s a training program at Fort Benning for officers from countries throughout Central and South America. Many of the school’s graduates have been linked to human rights abuses in their own countries.

I’m going to be posting to the Mercy Sisters’ blog about our trip before we leave, and then another once we return, to report on the experience. I’ll continue posting to the blog about once a week, updating on the Sisters’ justice initiatives. If you’re interested in any of that, you can find it at www.sistersofmercy.org and click on the “read our blog” link on the top lefthand side.

About mariannedc

I just moved from Albany, NY, to the Washington, DC, area and many friends and former co-workers want to hear about my life here. So this seemed like a great way to do that.
